Job Description

• Position requires independent scrubbing for liver recipient transplants.
• Must have transplant experience specifically with liver transplants.
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM).
• Call requirement: 40-60 hours of call over a 6-week schedule, including holidays.
• Average daily surgical case volume: 35 cases.
• Operating rooms: 22.
• Special equipment used: DaVinci XI surgical system.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification.

Required Documents & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy).
• Background check within 90 days of start, including 7 years of residence/work history, criminal, sex offender, and education verification.
• Additional background screenings within 30 days of start: EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG.
• Official transcript or diploma verifying education.
• Physical exam completed within 12 months of start.
• Fit mask test within 12 months (specific respirators approved).
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months.
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Rubeola (Measles): Positive titer or 2 vaccines.
  • Mumps: Positive titer or 2 vaccines.
  • Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines.
  • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted).
  • Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or signed declination.
  • Tuberculosis test within 1 year (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT).
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (no declinations accepted).
• TB questionnaire updated annually.
• Color blind exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score.
• Skills checklist completed within 12 months and annually.
• Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years.
• Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps over 30 days.

Additional Information

• Candidates must provide 2-3 days of interview availability.
• Indiana residents will not be eligible to sign new contracts in this specialty at this facility effective March 1, 2026.
• Facility-specific orientation and compliance documents must be completed prior to start.
• Call and holiday coverage are mandatory.
• Candidates must be prepared for a high-volume surgical environment with complex cases.
