X-Ray Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Friday to Sunday, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
- Daily Caseload: 30-75 patients per day, working alongside another technologist
- Work Setting: Outpatient center with walk-in patients; procedures include fluoroscopy, Modified barium swallows, and urodynamics
- Equipment Used: Konica U-arm, Phillips, EOS, OEC, Dornier, Zheim
- Facility Type: Short-Term Acute Care
- Charting System: Cerner
- Parking: Free
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Indiana state license (pending license submissions accepted)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI accepted
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Indiana
- Minimum of 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ARRT certification
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
- Background Check within 90 days, including:
- 7-year address history
- SSN Trace
- County, Statewide, National Sex Offender checks
- FACIS Level III
- Education Verification (may be pending at start)
- International search if lived/worked outside US in last 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Transcript or Diploma (official, clear copy; may be pending at start)
- Education Verification by 3rd party (may be pending at start)
- State License Verification within 30 days of start through primary source
- Competency exams including unit competency exam and color blind testing (Ishihara exam or equivalent, minimum 100%)
- Medication/Pharmacology exam not required for techs
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (HIPAA)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask test within 12 months (N95 or approved respirators)
- Tuberculosis screening (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year
- TB Questionnaire updated annually
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella (no exemptions accepted)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap strongly recommended (not required)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months (includes amphetamines, marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31)
Additional Requirements
- Minimum of 2 professional references from recent employment verified within 2 years; references must be from charge, manager, supervisor, or above (team lead acceptable for Allied travelers)
- Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months and updated annually
- Completion of facility-specific compliance and confidentiality forms prior to start (time sensitive)
Important Notes
- Indiana RN travelers have restrictions starting 11/30/2024; however, this does not apply to Allied professionals such as X-Ray Techs.
- On-site Fit Testing is available only as a last resort and requires prior approval.
- Facility mandates strict adherence to immunization and drug screening policies with no exemptions accepted for certain vaccines.
- Candidates must complete all required documentation and competency modules prior to orientation.
This position offers a fast-paced outpatient radiology environment with advanced imaging equipment and requires strong compliance with health and safety standards.
