Description
Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel Contract)
Location
- Austin, Texas
- Unit: 3 North, 3rd Floor
- Number of Beds: 32
- Patient Ratios: 5:1 (Day Shift), 6:1 (Night Shift)
- Equipment: Bladder Scanner, Vital Sign Machine, Telemetry, Lifts
- EMR System: Meditech
Contract Details
- Employment Type: Travel
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Call: No call required
- Weekends: 4 shifts per month
Unit Environment
- New opening with no current staff
- Staff Types: RNs, LVNs, Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- Typical Procedures: No routine procedures performed on unit
- Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs with facility logo

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
This position offers an opportunity to work in a newly opened Med Surg unit with a supportive environment and established patient ratios, focusing on night shift care without routine procedures.
