Registered Polysomnographic Technologist - Sioux Falls, SD

Job Details

  • Specialty: Sleep Tech
  • Location: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Nights, Sunday through Thursday
  • Hours: 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
  • Work Setting: Hospital outpatient department located in a clinic off the main hospital campus
  • Unit Size: 10-bed Sleep Lab (2 beds designated for pediatric testing)
  • Patient Ratio: Generally 2:1 tech to patient; 1:1 for patients younger than 3 years old
  • Floating: No floating to other units or departments
  • Work Alone: Employee will not work alone
  • Call: No call required

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic sleep testing including all PAP therapy titration
  • Check in patients, set up rooms, hook up patients, chart, and clean equipment
  • Use computerized charting systems including Natus XLTech Sleep Works and ResMed S9 Devices

Required Qualifications

  • Polysomnographer with at least 1 year of experience within the last year
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Completion of at least one travel assignment

Orientation and Training

  • Modified EMR training provided
  • One shift orientation alongside another sleep tech

Additional Information

  • Scrubs color: Gray
  • Clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
  • Secure entrance with flat lot parking immediately outside
  • No cafeteria on site
  • Limited scoring during data collection
  • Must note in submission if previously worked for this employer; if so, last end date must be at least 6 months prior to submission date
