Description

Registered Nurse (PACU) - Asheville, NC (Travel)

Job Details

Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Unit: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Employment Type: Travel

Unit Information

Unit Size: 40 beds
Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
Staffing:
- Hospital Unit Coordinator (HUC) available 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- 4 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) assigned to specific pods daily, capable of drawing labs, catheterizations, and patient transport
Equipment: Standard PACU equipment
Documentation System: Cerner
Scheduling: 6-week schedules with 3 required call shifts within that period
Floating Policy: Float within peri-anesthesia areas including Endoscopy, PreOp, and Phase II
Dress Code: Surgical green or navy scrubs

Required Qualifications

License: Registered Nurse (RN) license
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience in specialty
Skills:
- Trauma experience
- Pediatric experience
- NIH Stroke Scale experience
- Advanced ventilator monitoring skills

Additional Information

Procedures performed on unit include ventilator monitoring and other standard PACU care
Opportunity to work with experienced staff and utilize new equipment and technology
Schedule options include call shifts and floating within peri-anesthesia units
