Description

Registered Nurse (RN) – Observation (Night Shift)

Location: Midland, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours per Day: 12


Job Summary

  • Provide skilled nursing care to outpatients assigned to observation status.
  • Regularly assess patient needs and deliver nursing services as prescribed by the physician’s plan of care and nursing standards.
  • Administer medications, treatments, respond to call lights and alarms, and assist with patient transfers.
  • Evaluate treatment plan effectiveness and collaborate with the care team to update plans as needed.
  • Accurately process and follow up on physician orders, including medication changes and clarifications.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Observation nursing.
  • Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license verified through LARA and/or Nursys.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Work history and skills checklist relevant to ambulatory specialty, current within 1 year.
  • Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates will not be considered).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.

Additional Information

  • Dress code: Navy Blue uniform.
  • Facility is a 328-bed medical center offering primary, specialty, emergency, and Level II trauma care.
