Occupational Therapist (OT) - Outpatient (Days)

Location: Alpena, Michigan

Job Description

• Delegate responsibilities to Occupational Therapist Assistants and Aides.
• Perform patient-focused activities including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation following occupational therapy standards, physician orders, and policies.
• Evaluate patient function using formal and informal testing to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive status.
• Develop goal-specific treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance.
• Submit written treatment plans as part of the authorized plan of care; update plans as patient status changes.
• Devise treatment schedules specifying frequency and duration; coordinate with patient/family/caregiver and clinical staff.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on pathology, prognosis, treatment rationale, and alternatives.
• Supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students according to regulatory standards.
• Work setting is primarily outpatient with some acute care.

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Occupational Therapist License (LARA)
• Minimum of 2 years Occupational Therapy experience, including Pediatric experience
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Completed skills checklist relevant to Occupational Therapy within the past year
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates within 50 miles will not be considered)
