CVOR Tech - Surgical Services
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shifts: 3 or 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Day shift options: 06:30–18:30 or 11:00–23:30
- On-call/Weekend Requirement:
- 6 calls per 6-week schedule
- 1 weekend shift and/or 1 holiday shift per 6-week schedule
- Float Requirement: May float to general surgery if no cardiac cases are available
- Scrubs provided
- Flu vaccine required for all employees
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a CVOR Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one prior travel assignment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC)
- Experience with aseptic technique
- Experience in case cart management
- Experience with cardiac and vascular surgical cases
- Experience with crash cart use
- Experience with XI Robotics
- Experience in general surgery
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- I9/E-Verify attestation required prior to start
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Flu vaccine (or approved exemption) for current flu season
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- Documentation of immunity or vaccination for measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B
- N95 fit test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite if needed)
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, licenses, and contact information
- Skills checklist and competency exams required prior to start and updated annually
Additional Notes
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required prior to start and every 3 years (must score 80% or higher)
- Color blindness testing required (online or in-person acceptable)
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required annually
- Facility-specific training modules must be completed before start date
- Background checks and drug screens must be updated if there is a break in service of 6 months or more
- Must comply with all facility-specific policies and documentation requirements
This position is ideal for experienced CVOR Technicians with prior travel experience seeking a 13-week travel contract in a surgical services setting with varied surgical specialties and a structured on-call schedule.
