Description
Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical
Location: Evansville, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 12-hour days (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (48 hours accepted upon request)
- Overtime: Begins after 52 hours on 48-hour contracts
- Unit: 41 beds, patient ratio days 1:4-5, nights 1:6-7
- Patient Population: Post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, CHF
- Float Requirement:
- Primary float within skillset on the same campus
- Possible float to nearby campuses (8-11 miles away) with 2-hour notice
- Mid-shift float within campus; cross-campus mid-shift float unlikely but possible
- Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends every six weeks; every other holiday
- On Call/Call Back: Not required
- Charting System: Recent EPIC experience required (checkoff class required)
- Additional Notes:
- Teaching hospital; may require precepting students and new hires
- Scrubs must not display competing health system or agency logos
- Three call-ins may result in termination
- COVID-19 vaccine not required (subject to change)
- GSA hours not guaranteed during orientation week
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Trauma experience
- At least one completed travel assignment
- Current certifications: BLS issued by the American Heart Association and NIHSS
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
