Registered Nurse – Ortho Bone & Joint

Location: Herrin, Illinois

Job Description

• Work primarily on Ortho and North Surgical units.
• Responsibilities include providing nursing care within the orthopedic specialty.
• Every other weekend work required.
• Possibility of floating to other Med-Surg departments as needed.
• Floating assignments will be within the nurse’s scope of practice, licensure, and demonstrated competencies.

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) (required or preferred depending on unit)

Additional Information

• Floating may include working in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Acute Rehab, Medical, Step Down ICU, and ICU units.
• Some units may prefer additional certifications such as CSU-ALS.
• Must be able to work weekends and adapt to floating assignments.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum of 2 years Med-Surg nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience in orthopedic nursing

• Weekend and floating flexibility is essential.
