Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg/Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) (Days)

Job Description

• Provide professional and clinical nursing care as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• May be required to float within the same discipline across local campuses.
• Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime is billable after 40 hours.
• Required to work 1-2 of the following summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day.
• Orientation sessions available on scheduled dates throughout the year.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: EPIC.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• Illinois and Iowa state nursing licenses required.
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract (preferred).
• Current driver’s license.
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission.
• License verification and copy of required certifications.
• One supervisory reference required at time of submission.
• Must have a taxable address located more than 50 miles from the facility.

Clinical Skills & Knowledge Requirements

• Experience managing chest tubes, femstops, tracheostomies, continuous bladder irrigations (CBIs), drains, and central lines.
• Familiarity with medication titration including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban.

Additional Information

• Not eligible if employed by the facility within the last 12 months.
• Overtime and holiday pay multipliers apply.
• Call back pay with minimum 2-hour call back.
• Charge/preceptor pay available.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a Level 1 trauma center environment within a progressive care and telemetry setting.
