Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Night Shift
Location
- City: Saint Louis, Missouri

- Approximately 26 weeks
Work Schedule
- Night shift: 3 shifts per week, each 12 hours (18:45 to 7:15)
- Every third weekend rotation required
- Some holiday shifts required
- No block scheduling accommodation
- Floating between ICU and floor units within scope of practice
Job Description
- Provide respiratory therapy care in ICU and general floor settings
- Manage patients with acute and chronic respiratory diseases
- Comfortable managing mechanically ventilated patients
- Perform airway management including endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, tracheostomy suctioning, and sputum specimen collection
- Administer respiratory medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Inhaled Flolan, Lidocaine, Nitric Oxide, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, and Xopenex
- Use various medication delivery systems including aerosol masks, trach aerosol setups, and metered dose inhalers
- Operate nebulizers (handheld, T-piece, trach collar, ultrasonic)
- Provide oxygen therapy including High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
- Manage ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Interpret arterial blood gases (ABG)
- May be asked to precept respiratory therapy students occasionally
- Ability to walk long distances on a large hospital campus is important
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
