X-Ray Tech Travel/Contract Position
Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 2 shifts of 16 hours each (Saturday-Sunday, 5 PM to 9 AM)
- No on-call requirement
- Must be available to work one holiday per 13-week contract (rotational basis)
- Epic experience preferred
- No first-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates not accepted (radius restrictions apply)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Virginia
- Minimum of 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
- Completion of at least one travel assignment
- BLS certification
- ARRT (R) certification
- X-Ray Technician experience
Clinical Skills & Imaging Experience
- Abdomen: abdomen decubitus, supine (KUB), upright
- Upper extremity: AC joints, clavicle, elbow, forearm, hand, humerus, scapula, shoulder, thumb/finger, trauma shoulder/humerus, trauma upper extremity (non-shoulder), wrist
- Lower extremity: ankle, calcaneus, femur, foot, knee, patella, tibia-fibula, toes, trauma lower extremity
- Head/Chest: chest AP, upper airway, facial bones, paranasal sinuses, skull
- Spine/Pelvis: cervical, lumbar, thoracic spine, hip, pelvis, sacrum/coccyx
- Work settings include adult acute care, outpatient, bedside/portable, ER, ICU, pediatrics, PICU, and OR
- Patient populations: neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Driver’s License/State ID with address within 100 miles of facility required within 48 hours of signing
- E-Verify or attestation required
- 7-year background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years (not required annually unless 30+ day break in assignments)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
- Education verification of highest earned degree required
- Physical exam within 1 year confirming freedom from communicable diseases
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Required immunizations or positive titers: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Fit test for mask within 1 year, updated annually (if applicable)
- Professional photo for badge required
- Completion of new hire paperwork and compliance documents prior to start
- Two clinical references required
- Skills checklist updated annually
Additional Notes
- Candidate must be able to work weekend night shifts (2x16 hours) without call
- Holiday work is required once per contract period on a rotating basis
- Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
