Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location
- Easton, Maryland
Contract Details
- Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: August 10, 2026
- Shift: Rotating Night/Evening shifts (primarily night)
- Hours: 36 hours per week (3x12 or 4x12 shifts accepted)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holidays: Required as scheduled
- Floating: Within specialty and sister ED facilities as needed
- On-Call: No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
Job Description
- Fast-paced Emergency Department setting
- Patient age range: All ages (infant to geriatric)
- Patient ratio: Typically 1:4, can be up to 1:5 with lower acuity
- Patient diagnoses: Complex and varied across all systems
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Certifications issued by the American Heart Association:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background checks including 7-year criminal search, education verification, and various federal/state screenings
- Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen (including fentanyl) within 30-90 days prior to start
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask models required)
- Immunizations and titers:
- TDaP within 10 years or signed declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B immunity or declination (series not accepted)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (declinations not accepted)
- Required facility-specific documents including photo for badge, confidentiality agreement, dress code review, and orientation attendance
- Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
- Verification of employment history for the past 5 years
Additional Notes
- Rotation schedule is based on department needs, with primary need for night shifts currently
- No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required
- Floating may include coverage at nearby sister ED facilities
- Candidates must complete all required documentation and certifications prior to or during onboarding as specified by the facility
