Description

Registered Nurse - Oncology (Travel/Contract)

Location: Issaquah, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Overview

  • Support outpatient MDs in clinic with infusion needs.
  • Requires acute care medical-surgical oncology experience.
  • Outpatient oncology experience preferred, with extensive chemotherapy experience.
  • Schedule options:
    • Primary: 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
    • Alternate: 4 days a week, 9.5-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
  • No weekends or call requirements.
  • Accepts first-time travelers.
  • Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible to work as travelers here.
  • Active compact nursing licenses are honored.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington.
  • Minimum 1 year of Hematology/Oncology experience, with experience within the last year.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
  • Chemotherapy experience.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Required Documents & Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 and state requirements).
  • Background Check:
    • Must be within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
    • Includes SSN trace, death master index, nationwide and national sex offender checks, education verification, and others as applicable.
    • Annual updates required.
  • Education Verification: Nursing degree verification required; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report.
  • NURSYS license verification required for all RNs.
  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating fitness to work.
  • Immunizations and Health Screenings:
    • TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination.
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer or declination.
    • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer or declination.
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination.
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine during flu season or declination.
    • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted.
  • Drug Screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instant tests acceptable.
  • Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required for all new travel starts, medically cleared annually for respirator use.
  • Fit Mask Test: Required for all new travel starts, updated annually; may be completed onsite.

Training & Competencies

  • Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp).
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
  • Competency exams and skills checklists updated annually.
  • Epic system training modules required within one week of orientation.

Additional Requirements

  • Float Policy Acknowledgement: May be required to float to other nearby facilities.
  • WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation required for RNs working with out-of-state compact licenses in Washington.
  • Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required prior to start.

Work Environment

  • Outpatient oncology infusion clinic setting.
  • Day shift with no weekends or on-call duties.
