Description
Registered Nurse - Cardiology Clinic
Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift only
Hours per Week: 40
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse collaborates with the healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan and implement patient and family education, and initiate appropriate interventions. The role involves promoting health, ensuring patient safety, and enhancing nursing practice quality.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Montana
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 1 year of cardiology experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
- Outpatient clinic experience
- Knowledge of electronic health record systems
Essential Job Functions
- Collect comprehensive patient health data and perform assessments
- Analyze assessment data to determine nursing diagnoses
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care
- Promote health and maintain a safe environment
- Continuously improve nursing practice quality and effectiveness
- Evaluate own nursing practice against professional standards and regulations
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Integrate ethical principles and research findings into practice
- Provide leadership within the professional practice setting

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds (e.g., patients, equipment)
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for eight or more hours daily
- Flexibility to work beyond a standard 40-hour week, including weekends and after-hours
- On-call availability may be required
Potential Exposure
- Bloodborne pathogens (blood, bodily fluids, tissues)
- Radiation in medical imaging areas
- Chemicals and medications, including cleaning and disinfecting agents
- Infectious diseases from patient contact
- Emotionally challenging situations involving distressed patients or families
Additional Notes
- The facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances.
