Staff Pharmacist - Nights
Location: Lancaster, Ohio
Employment Type: Contract (13 weeks)
Shift: 7 days on / 7 days off, nights from 8:00 PM to 7:30 AM (Thursday night to Thursday morning)
Hours per Week: 36
Job Summary
- Provide pharmaceutical care including monitoring, evaluation, and assurance of medication quality and safety.
- Dispense and control drugs, provide drug information, and support patient services.
- Serve as the sole pharmacist in the hospital from 11:30 PM to 6:00 AM, with pharmacy technician support overnight.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Hospital Pharmacist license in Ohio.
- Bachelor of Science degree or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree.
- Hospital Pharmacist (1 year of experience).
- Hospital Pharmacist experience within the last year.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, interpret, and accurately process medication orders and prescriptions.
- Monitor and manage patient medication therapy for therapeutic appropriateness and effectiveness, considering patient age.
- Maintain departmental policies, quality improvement programs, and regulatory compliance.
- Communicate drug information to patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Participate in drug therapy management during medical emergencies, including medication preparation and ensuring adequate supplies.
- Coordinate daily pharmacy technician activities to meet patient and departmental needs.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Medium physical work: occasional exertion of 20-50 pounds of force, frequent exertion of 10-25 pounds.
- Requires analytical thinking, memory, problem-solving, creativity, communication, collaboration, prioritization, and judgment.
- Potential exposure to electrical equipment.
- No special protective equipment required.

Additional Notes
- This position operates on a 7-on/7-off night schedule with work weeks running Thursday night through Thursday morning.
