Description

Registered Nurse (PACU) - Travel Assignment

Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 hours


Unit Overview

  • Unit: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
  • Number of Beds: 16
  • Patient Ratio: 1:2
  • Staffing: No unit secretary or tech support; only RNs on staff
  • Equipment: Bedside monitors, arterial lines (a-lines)
  • Documentation System: Meditech
  • Scheduling: 12-hour shifts with call rotations
  • Floating Policy: No floating between units
  • Patient Experience Focus: OAS CAHPS
  • Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
  • Team Environment: Emphasizes great teamwork

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
  • Minimum 1 year of recent PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) experience within the last year
  • ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

  • Preferred Certifications: CCRN and CAPA preferred but not mandatory
  • Unit Highlights:
    • Experienced staff with strong teamwork
    • Use of advanced monitoring equipment
    • Stable scheduling with 12-hour shifts and call rotations

This position is a travel assignment suitable for experienced PACU RNs seeking a 13-week contract in a supportive, well-equipped hospital environment.
