Description
Registered Nurse - Postpartum
Location: Thornton, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Unit Information
- Unit: Postpartum / Gynecology
- Beds: 14 LDRPs (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) and 2 Operating Rooms
- Staff: Approximately 60 total
- Typical Day Shift Staffing: 1 Charge RN, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
- Typical Night Shift Staffing: Similar to day shift
- Patient Ratios:
- Labor & Delivery: 1:1 to 1:2 maximum
- Postpartum: 3:1 maximum (per AWHONN guidelines)
- Equipment: Beacon system
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR): CPN and Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Maternal-Newborn nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Preferred Qualifications
- Labor & Delivery experience
- Prior experience with Meditech EMR
Typical Procedures Performed
- Vaginal deliveries, including assisted deliveries
- Cesarean sections (C-sections)
- Dilation and Curettage (D&C)
