Description

Registered Nurse - Postpartum

Location: Thornton, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Information

  • Unit: Postpartum / Gynecology
  • Beds: 14 LDRPs (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) and 2 Operating Rooms
  • Staff: Approximately 60 total
  • Typical Day Shift Staffing: 1 Charge RN, 3 RNs, 2 CNAs, 1-3 sitters
  • Typical Night Shift Staffing: Similar to day shift
  • Patient Ratios:
    • Labor & Delivery: 1:1 to 1:2 maximum
    • Postpartum: 3:1 maximum (per AWHONN guidelines)
  • Equipment: Beacon system
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR): CPN and Meditech

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1 year of Maternal-Newborn nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Labor & Delivery experience
  • Prior experience with Meditech EMR

Typical Procedures Performed

  • Vaginal deliveries, including assisted deliveries
  • Cesarean sections (C-sections)
  • Dilation and Curettage (D&C)
