Description

Registered Nurse - ICU (Travel/Contract)

Location: Tyler, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Unit: Trauma ICU (Level I Trauma experience required)
  • Shift: Days, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
  • Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 2 patients
  • Float Requirements: ICU, Intermediate Care (IMC), Telemetry as needed
  • Number of Beds: 16 (14 rooms)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 2 years of Trauma ICU nursing experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
  • Prior travel nursing experience
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Compliance and Documentation

  • Valid Driver’s License or State ID required
  • E-Verify compliance required
  • Background checks including:
    • 7-year criminal background check updated annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire
    • Education verification (highest level) required
  • NURSYS license verification required
  • Skills checklist and unit-specific competencies required annually
  • Work history verification for the past 7 years required
  • Photo for badge required

Additional Notes

  • Candidates residing in certain Texas counties are not eligible for this travel assignment (counties include Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris)
  • Orientation and fingerprinting requirements apply (fingerprinting onsite during orientation for certain states)
  • Must meet medication/pharmacology competency exams and color blindness testing as applicable

This position is ideal for experienced ICU RNs with trauma background and prior travel nursing experience seeking a 13-week travel contract in Texas.
