Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours per week)
- Call requirement: 1 day per week plus every 4th or 5th weekend (Saturday 7 AM to Sunday 7 AM and Sunday 7 AM to Monday 7 AM)
Job Description
- Must have strong expertise in liver and kidney Doppler ultrasound due to transplant patient population.
- High volume of venous Doppler (arms & legs), liver biopsies, and neck/thyroid fine needle aspirations (FNA).
- Equipment used includes Philips and Siemens ultrasound machines.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
- Experience as an Ultrasound Technologist within the last year.
- Certification: BLS (Basic Life Support).
- Certification: RDMS-AB (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Abdomen).
Call-In Policy
- If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift:
- For 0.9 FTE: make up the day during the pay period or add the shift at the end of the contract if unable to make up.
- For 1.2 FTE: call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract.
Facility Notes
- Due to new regulations effective 11/30/2024, Indiana RNs are generally not allowed to work at this facility except for Perioperative/OR RNs, Allied, and Ambulatory RN travelers (not applicable to this role).
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy).
- Background checks including 7 years of residence/work history, SSN trace, county/state/national criminal checks, sex offender registry, FACIS Level III, education verification, and international search if applicable.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months.
- Physical exam within 12 months.
- Fit mask test within 12 months (specific respirators approved).
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Rubeola (Measles): positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted).
- Mumps: positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted).
- Rubella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted).
- Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines (no declinations accepted).
- Hepatitis B: series, titer, or signed declination required.
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: strongly recommended.
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/30 - 3/31).
- Tuberculosis screening within 1 year (PPD, QuantiFERON-TB Gold, or T-SPOT) with chest x-ray if positive.
- Color blindness test (Ishihara or equivalent) with 100% minimum score.
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam and unit competency exam required.
- References: minimum 2 from recent employment verified within 2 years, with appropriate supervisory titles.
- Current employment application with full work history and explanations for gaps over 30 days.
- Skills checklist completed within 12 months and updated annually.
Orientation & Training
- Completion of facility-specific forms and orientation packets prior to start.
- HIPAA acknowledgment required annually.
