Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Dialysis (Days)
Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide dialysis care including inpatient dialysis patients (acute dialysis experience highly preferred).
- Patient types include remote telemetry, ICU patients, dialysis patients with Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) and End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD).
- Patient ratio: 2:1
- Equipment used: Fresenius 2008T hemodialysis machines, Baxter Homechoice Claria peritoneal dialysis.
- Required to float across multiple campuses.
- Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours.
- Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed.
- Orientation dates available: August 3 and August 17.
- Scrubs color: Navy blue solids.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Minimum 2 years of dialysis experience, including dialysis experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- One completed travel assignment
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Valid driver’s license
Additional Information
- Night call back pay and on-call pay available with specified multipliers.
- Employee separation policy restricts travel assignments for certain past employees within the last 12 months.
- EMR system used: EPIC.
- Charge/preceptor pay available.
