Description

Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician (CST) - Operating Room

Location: Chattanooga, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Unit and Work Environment

Unit: Surgery, Main Campus
Number of Operating Rooms: 17
Equipment used includes electrosurgical devices, Neptune suction, patient positioning devices, and advanced robotic technology.
Documentation system: Meditech
Schedule options: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Uniform: Scrubs provided

Procedures and Specialties

Orthopedic and spine surgical procedures (previous experience required)
Neurosurgical procedures including craniotomies (experience preferred but not required)
Robotic procedures
General surgery, urology, cardiovascular including open heart surgery
Use of Synaptive Medical Modus V robotic digital microscope for neurosurgical procedures (unique technology in Tennessee)

Required Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with at least 1 year of experience
Experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience circulating in orthopedic surgical procedures
Experience circulating in spine surgical procedures

Additional Information

Surgery Board Runner support available (unit secretaries and tech availability)
No floating policy
Patient ratios not applicable
Opportunity to work with advanced surgical technology and experienced staff

This position is ideal for CSTs with orthopedic and spine OR experience seeking a travel assignment with exposure to advanced surgical technology and a variety of complex procedures.
