Description

Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

Location: Smyrna, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Overview

  • Emergency Department with 39 beds
  • Patient ratio: 4:1 (surge bed assigned to each section)
  • Unit staffing includes free lead, unit clerk, sitters for behavioral health, paramedics, EMTs, and LPNs
  • Equipment used: Rapid Infuser, Glidescope
  • Documentation system: Meditech EDM
  • Scheduling: Every other weekend required
  • Dress code: Charcoal grey scrubs

Required Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
  • NIH Certification

Required Licenses

  • Registered Nurse (RN) License in Tennessee

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Tennessee
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI
  • Experience with critical care drips (gtts), sedation, Emergency Severity Index (ESI), and codes
  • Advanced skills and experience preferred in STEMI, Stroke, and Sepsis
