Registered Nurse (Med Surg/OB) - South Dakota

• Chamberlain, South Dakota

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 36 hours per week
• 12-hour shifts
• Day/Night rotation
• Every other weekend and holiday required
• 3 call shifts required during the 13-week contract

Unit Details

• 25 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: Typically 3-4 patients per nurse in Med/Surg, depending on census and acuity
• Floating between Med Surg and OB units

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• At least 6 months Med Surg experience in the past year
• At least 6 months OB experience in the past year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (required before start)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification (required before start)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification (required)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification (preferred)
• Able to function independently in the ER and Med Surg unit managing up to 5 patients

Skills and Equipment

• Experience with computerized charting and medication systems including Sanford One Charge and Pyxis
• EPIC computer training provided
• 1 day of OB training and 1 day of Med Surg training provided

Dress Code

• Navy blue scrubs (no logos)
• White clothing or lab coat may be worn under uniform

Additional Notes

• All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
• Candidates who have previously worked for the facility must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
• Candidates should indicate if time off is required during the assignment and provide dates in comments
