Description
Registered Nurse - Outpatient Clinic (Travel/Contract)
Location: Richland, Washington
Shift: Day, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Travel experience required; must be a seasoned traveler.
- Must have outpatient clinic experience, specifically in a fast-paced environment.
- Urology background required.
- Preferred experience: Emergency Room, pre/post-operative care, day surgery/ambulatory care, and home health.
- Recent experience with catheters is required.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6-8 patients.
- No floating between units, no on-call, no weekends, and no block schedules required.
- 48-hour shifts are not approved.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington.
- Minimum of one year of clinic experience, with clinic experience within the last year.
- Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Urology background required.
- Recent experience with catheters.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 and state requirements).
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
- Education verification for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report.
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment.
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, indicating ability to work with or without accommodation.
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted).
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; positive TB history requires documentation.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer; declination accepted.
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination; specific rules for Alaska placements.
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer; declination accepted.
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination accepted.
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention protocols.
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instants acceptable.
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024.
- Fit mask testing required annually for travel candidates starting on or after 2/5/2024 (except specific units).
Training & Competencies
- Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp).
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Competency exams required as applicable by specialty.
- Epic training modules required within a week of orientation for applicable hospital systems.
- Color blindness testing may be required on a unit-by-unit basis.
Additional Notes
- Float policy acknowledgment required; candidate may be required to float to other nearby facilities within the system.
- No on-call, weekend, or block schedule requirements.
- 48-hour shifts are not approved.
- Prior travel experience is explicitly required.
