Description

Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Titusville, Florida
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (8:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40


Job Summary

  • Role: Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist RN (CVIS RN)
  • Performs technical skills during Interventional Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology, and Interventional Radiology procedures.
  • Responsible for patient preparation, assessment, documentation, and monitoring during angiography and related procedures.
  • Works within RN scope of practice and hospital policies.
  • Patient ratio approximately 1:4.
  • No weekend shifts required.
  • On-call required: 15 days of call per month plus every third weekend.
  • Float is not required.
  • Block scheduling may be accommodated depending on need.
  • Start date: ASAP.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida.
  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification.

Compliance and Background Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
  • Background check within 6 months including:
    • Social Security trace
    • County, nationwide, and sex offender checks
    • Education verification (ASN, BSN, or MSN transcript/diploma acceptable as placeholder)
    • Motor Vehicle Record if driving is part of the job
  • Federal exclusions checks (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG).
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting).
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start.
  • 9-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (instant tests not accepted as final).
  • Immunizations and health documentation:
    • Flu vaccine or declination form required annually
    • COVID vaccine documentation or approved exemption required
    • TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (if applicable)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity proof or waiver
    • Hepatitis B immunity proof or declination/waiver
    • Varicella immunity proof or declination/waiver
  • Annual vaccination program acknowledgment and related forms.

Additional Requirements and Notes

  • Local travelers accepted if residing at least 30 miles away.
  • Call-outs limited to 3; exceeding results in termination.
  • Shift change notices:
    • 48 hours’ notice refusal may forfeit guaranteed hours for pay period.
    • 1 week or more notice refusal may result in termination.
  • Return to Office (RTO) parameters: no more than 10 days off, requiring an additional 2 weeks added to assignment; no RTO during first or last week of assignment.
  • Two professional references required within 2 years of start.
  • Performance evaluation within the last year required if previously worked through any agency.
  • Skills checklist required.

Facility and Work Environment

  • Acute care hospital with 210 staffed beds.
  • Charting system: Meditech version 6.08.
  • Free parking in unrestricted spaces.
  • Scrub color provided.

This position is ideal for experienced CVIS RNs seeking a travel contract in an acute care setting with specialized cardiovascular procedural responsibilities.
