Description

Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health (Travel)

Location: Aurora, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36


Unit Information

  • Unit Type: Geriatric Psychiatric (Behavioral Health)
  • Number of Beds: 120
  • Number of Staff: 50
  • Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:8-9 (days and nights; estimated, not guaranteed)
  • Equipment Used: Welch Allen Vital Signs Machines
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech
  • Work Environment: Family-oriented, collaborative team culture
  • Recognition: 3X Magnet Designation

Job Description

  • Provide nursing care on a geriatric behavioral health unit
  • Perform behavioral health admissions and discharges
  • Serve as Lead RN resource (training provided)
  • Float to other inpatient adult behavioral health units as needed
  • Work hours typically from 7 PM to 7 AM (night shift)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Colorado
  • Psychiatric experience within the last year
  • Minimum 1 year of psychiatric experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong inpatient behavioral health experience
