Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Technologist (Travel/Contract)

Location

  • Leonardtown, Maryland

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

  • Day shift options:
    • 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
    • Or 4 days per week, 10 hours per day
  • Call required:
    • Monday to Friday: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM
    • Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Call rotates among 4 technologists

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Maryland
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
  • Completion of at least one prior travel assignment
  • ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT R)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Proficient in Interventional Radiology procedures including:
    • Special Procedures
    • Angioplasty
    • Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filter placement and removal
    • Fluoroscopy operation
  • Ability to maintain sterile field and proficient in sterile technique

Preferred Certifications

  • ARRT in Vascular Interventional (ARRT VI)

Skills and Competencies

  • Interventional Radiology procedures including:
    • Special Procedures
    • Angioplasty
    • Inferior Vena Cava (IVC) filter placement and removal
    • Fluoroscopy operation
  • Experience with Siemens imaging equipment
  • Ability to prep access sites and maintain sterile field (scrub role)
  • Proficient in sterile technique
  • Charting experience with Cerner electronic health record system

Uniform

  • Scrubs are provided

Required Documentation and Compliance

  • Valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function
  • Completion of I9/E-Verify attestation prior to start
  • Criminal background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
  • Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to and during assignment
  • Education verification as required by position
  • Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
  • Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease
  • N95 fit test within 9 months of start, updated annually (client may complete onsite)
  • Immunization and health requirements including:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if history of TB)
    • Documentation of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccines or positive titers
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccine or positive titer
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
  • Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology testing as required
  • Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
  • Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education, employment, license, and contact information

Additional Notes

  • Orientation sessions are held every Monday
  • Call schedule requires availability evenings and weekends as specified
  • Facility provides scrubs for the assignment
  • Documentation and compliance requirements are strictly enforced and must be completed prior to start date
