Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location: Nashua, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift
Hours per Week: 40
Job Description
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals orally, by injection, or inhalation for diagnostic scans.
- Operate imaging equipment such as SPECT/CT scanners to produce images of brain, thyroid, bone, heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver.
- Explain imaging procedures to patients, ensure their comfort, and position them appropriately for scanning.
- Process and produce computer-generated images for physician interpretation.
- Maintain detailed records of radiopharmaceutical usage and procedures.
- Follow safety protocols to protect staff and patients from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Stay current with advances and developments in nuclear medicine technology and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in New Hampshire
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform tasks involving sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Frequent lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to handle stress related to responsibility for quality patient care.
Additional Information
- Up to 16 hours of orientation is unpaid.
- Employer reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
