Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Travel Position

Location: Thornton, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36

Unit Information

• ICU with 28 beds split between two pods:

  • Pod A: 12 beds (opened 1/2019)
  • Pod B: 16 beds (second floor)
• Staff: 42 total
• Shifts: Day and Night, each with 1 charge nurse; nurse-to-patient ratios typically 1:2, can vary from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on acuity
• Support: Critical care tech staffed 6 days a week, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
• Equipment: Pyxis, Plum Pump IVs, GE bedside monitors, Nelcor, Arctic Sun, Sub Zero
• EMR system: Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Colorado
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• De-Escalation skills in healthcare settings

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC certification
• Experience with Meditech EMR

Typical Patient Population and Procedures

• Neurosurgical patients
• Trauma (currently Level III, upgrading to Level II trauma center)
• Cardiac arrest and respiratory arrest cases
• Alcohol and drug withdrawal management
• All ventilated patients admitted to ICU
