Description
Registered Nurse (RN) – Intensive Care Unit (ICU) (Nights)
Location: Robbinsdale, Minnesota
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Nights
Hours per Day: 12
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide holistic nursing care across the lifespan including neonates, infants, children, young adults, adults, and older adults.
- Perform independent, collaborative, and delegated nursing functions according to standards and competencies specific to the ICU.
- Execute the Standards of Nursing Practice: assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Develop and revise patient care plans, coordinate care among disciplines, and delegate activities appropriately.
- Participate in shared accountability and decision-making for nursing practices.
- May be required to float to other ICUs (TNICU, MICU) and Medical/Surgical units as staffing needs dictate.
- Use Epic electronic medical records system.
- Dress code: Galaxy Blue Scrubs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Minnesota
- Critical Care Float (1 year of experience)
- Critical Care Float experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience working with Adult patients
- Experience working with Geriatric patients
- ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
- Experience with Epic
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Impella and balloon pumps.
Additional Information
- Nonbillable hours: 4 hours.
- Strict compliance deadline for credential submission: 4 pm on the Wednesday before assignment start; no exceptions.
- Candidates must disclose if not eligible to work in the USA.
- Prior work history with this health system or associated facilities must be listed on the resume.
- Local traveler policy applies for candidates living within 35 miles of the facility.
- The facility is a Level 1 Trauma center with Level II pediatric trauma and Level III NICU capabilities.
Summary
This is a 13-week night shift ICU RN position requiring at least 1 year of experience, strong cardiac care skills, and Epic EMR proficiency. The role involves critical care nursing with potential float assignments to other ICUs and medical/surgical units. Compliance with credentialing deadlines and specific documentation is mandatory.
