Staff RN – Med/Surg – Nights (Contract)

Location: Lancaster, Ohio
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Hours per Week: 36

Job Summary

Registered Nurse responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and supervising individual patient care using the nursing process. Delegates appropriate tasks to co-workers and performs duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year
• BLS certification

Job Responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care based on patient assessment and established care plans
• Educate patients and families throughout admission to discharge
• Document nursing care accurately and legibly
• Notify physicians of significant patient status changes
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Implement physician orders as written
• Ensure availability and proper functioning of equipment and supplies
• Supervise and direct Nursing Assistants professionally

Physical and Mental Demands

• Heavy physical work involving frequent patient handling and exertion of 10 to 100 pounds of force
• Ability to regulate emotions, manage urgent situations calmly, and communicate empathetically
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and observation skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain cognitive function under stress
