MRI Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Saratoga Springs, New York
Shift: Evening, Monday to Friday, 1:30 PM – 9:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Description

• Perform MRI and CT imaging procedures.
• Must be able to perform CT with IV contrast (requires injection license for New York).
• Experience with Siemens MRI units preferred, especially Espree MRI.
• Use of Epic electronic health record system.
• Local travel radius limit: 50 miles, excluding certain counties in the Albany area.

Required Qualifications

• Valid MRI Technologist license in New York.
• Minimum of 1 year of MRI Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Experience with Siemens Espree MRI units.

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) preferred.

Health and Compliance Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start; onsite physical with Occupational Health prior to start.
• Negative TB test (2-step PPD or Quantiferon Gold) within 1 year; chest X-ray if prior positive PPD.
• 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start.
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required by December 5th, 2024. Mask required if exemption approved.
• Ishihara color vision test (can be completed onsite).

Testing and Competency Exams

• Must pass advanced EKG/ECG test with a minimum 90% score within 72 hours of contract signing (required for certain units).
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.

Background and Documentation

• Government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or state ID).
• Standard background checks including 7-year search, nationwide, sex offender registry, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and HHS/OIG checks.
• Facility-specific documents including photo for badge, FCRA authorization, lift assessment (typically 25 lbs), and others as required.

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Must comply with local residence restrictions for travel nurses within specified counties.
• References: 2 professional references required for travel/allied/per diem acute care roles.

This position is ideal for MRI Technologists with strong MRI and CT skills, New York licensure, and the ability to work evenings in a travel contract role.
