Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)
Hours: 40 hours per week (8 hours per day)

- 379 staffed beds
- Level II Trauma Center
- Dress code for licensed personnel: solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs (no print tops except in specific units)

Job Details
- Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Physical Therapy)
- Position does not float between units
- No on-call required
- Weekend work required on a rotation basis with full-time therapy staff
- No block schedules required
- Expected patient ratio: 1:1
- 48-hour work weeks are not approved
Required Qualifications
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (as applicable)
- Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
- Education verification required
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work
- Drug screening (9-panel) within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination
- COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations accepted)
- Respirator clearance required annually for travel candidates (RespSafety questionnaire)
- Photo for badge (passport style, neutral background) required
Documentation and Training
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting
- Annual completion of regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
- EPIC training transcripts may be required depending on facility
- Skills checklist updated annually as applicable
Additional Notes
- Candidates must comply with facility-specific policies including floating policy acknowledgment
- No print tops allowed except in designated units

- No 48-hour work weeks approved for this position
This position is suitable for Physical Therapists with at least 1 year of acute care experience seeking a 13-week travel contract in a Level II Trauma Center hospital setting with day shifts and weekend rotation.
