Description
Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Dayshift: Sunday through Thursday
- Hours: 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM (8-hour shifts, 40 hours/week)
- Holiday and standby call may be required based on operational needs
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Compliance and Background Requirements
- E-Verify compliance required
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including:
- Social Security Number trace
- County and nationwide criminal checks
- Sex offender registry check
- Wisconsin Caregiver Screening and BID Form required within 90 days of start
- Ongoing monthly monitoring through workforce monitoring systems for certain federal exclusions (EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG)
- Education verification as applicable to specialty
Certifications and Testing
- ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications as applicable (check unit requirements)
- National certification verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration
- Facility-specific pass/fail testing for telemetry and medication competency as applicable
- Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required
- Annual renewal and compliance with testing deadlines
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
- Annual TB questionnaire
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers; medical or religious exemptions allowed with facility approval
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer; medical or religious exemptions allowed with facility approval
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or documented declination form (required for direct patient care or blood/body fluid exposure)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season (September 22 – April 13)
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination required if working in Microbiology department
Additional Requirements
- Physical exam (to meet agency standard, not facility required)
- Drug screening per agency standard (required for clinical candidates)
- Photo for badge (passport-style, no headwear except for religious/medical reasons)
- Signed employment application and skills checklist annually
- Two clinical references within the last 3 years (agency standard)
Notes
- Candidates must complete all required facility-specific forms and screenings prior to start date
- Remediation courses and retesting required if initial pass/fail tests are not passed
- Strict deadlines apply for all certifications and testing to maintain compliance
This position offers a structured day schedule with a focus on radiology and cardiology imaging, requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and appropriate licensure and certifications. Compliance with state and facility-specific health, background, and competency requirements is mandatory.
