Description
Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Travel/Contract)
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Evening shifts, 10 hours each (14:15 to 00:15)
- Week 1: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
- Week 2: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (rotating 8 days on / 6 days off)
- Standby call and holiday shifts may be required based on operational needs
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Radiology Technologist
- Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Certifications & Compliance
- BLS and ACLS certifications must be current and issued by the American Heart Association
- National certification/verification required within 30 days of start and upon expiration (as applicable)
- Primary source verification of state license within 30 days of start and upon expiration
- Facility-specific pass/fail testing (e.g., telemetry exams) may be required depending on unit assignment
- Annual competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests as applicable
Background and Screening Requirements
- Comprehensive background check within 90 days prior to start, including all locations lived/worked/schooled in the past 7 years
- Wisconsin Caregiver Screening and BID Form required within 90 days of start
- Ongoing monthly monitoring through workforce monitoring systems
- Background review required for any pending or convicted criminal charges (excluding certain traffic violations)
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes; TB questionnaire updated annually
- Proof of immunizations or positive titers for:
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) – 2 doses or positive titers required
- Varicella – 2 doses or positive titer required; history of chickenpox not accepted
- Hepatitis B vaccination series and positive antibody titer or signed facility-specific declination form (required for direct patient care roles)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season (09/22 – 04/13)
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination required if working in Microbiology department
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination proof required (10-year update not mandatory)
Additional Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year (to meet agency standard)
- Drug screening required for all clinical candidates per agency standards; pharmacy department candidates require specific drug panel within 45 days of start
- Signed acknowledgment of facility safety manual and pass/fail testing as applicable
- Passport-style photo for badge issuance (specific photo requirements apply)
- Completion of facility-specific communicable disease form within 90 days of start
- Medical or religious exemption forms for vaccines must follow facility approval processes
References and Documentation
- Two clinical references within the last 3 years required
