Pharmacist - Inpatient

Location: Marshfield, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Inpatient pharmacist role with variable team assignments, including standard pediatric orders due to embedded pediatric hospital.
• Primary duties include order verification, product check and release, remote sterile compounding verification, and clinical tasks such as IV-PO conversions, renal dose review, aminoglycoside and anticoagulation dosing.
• Work schedule consists of 10-hour evening and night shifts, typically block scheduled with 7/70 rotation (7 nights on, 7 nights off). Day shifts are 8 hours with staggered starts beginning at 6:00 AM.
• Weekend work required up to every other weekend; rotating holidays.
• No on-call requirement, but may be asked to call in for sick coverage.
• Orientation lasts 1-2 weeks depending on role specialization.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Wisconsin pharmacist license (ACT 10 license accepted).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum 1 year hospital experience required; residency training or 3 years of experience preferred.

Work Environment & Tools

• Medication dispensing systems include Omnicell Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs), Cerner EMR, and Pharmacy Keeper for compounding and remote verification.
• Pharmacy technicians are staffed 24 hours in sterile compounding and non-sterile roles.
• Dress code is business casual unless entering sterile environments, where navy facility scrubs are provided.

Additional Information

• Typical workweek under 7/70 schedule starts on Wednesday, alternating between 30 and 40 hours over a two-week pay period.
