Description

Operating Room Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Issaquah, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40


Job Description

  • Work primarily in Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology, Gynecology, Spine, ENT, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, OB-GYN, Plastics, Robotics, Trauma, and Vascular specialties.
  • Circulating and scrub roles with preference for scrub experience in trauma and ENT with endoscope experience.
  • Patient population: 30% inpatient, 70% outpatient, 10% pediatrics.
  • On-call shifts required: 12-hour shifts (weekdays 7 PM to 7 AM; weekends/holidays either 7 PM to 7 AM or 7 AM to 7 PM), shared among approximately 15 RNs. Weekend coverage is for on-call support only.
  • Floating to other campuses may be required.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington.
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID and Social Security Card (for I9 verification).
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
  • Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report.
  • NURSYS license verification required.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation.
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years; declination accepted).
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months; updated annually.
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; declination accepted).
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer; declination accepted.
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted).
    • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention protocols.
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instants acceptable.
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for respirator use.
  • Fit mask testing required for travel nurses, updated annually.
  • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
  • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment.

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via assigned LMS platform.
  • Completion of facility-specific onboarding documents including float policy acknowledgment (floating to other campuses may be required).
  • Photo for badge with neutral background required.
  • EPIC training modules must be completed within one week of orientation.

  • Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible to work as travelers here.
  • First-time travelers are accepted.
  • Active compact nursing licenses are honored.
  • Floating and on-call duties are part of the role.
  • Prior travel experience is not required.
