Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7 PM, every other weekend
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Call Requirements: None (No on-call)
Unit and Work Environment
- Unit: Respiratory Therapy
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Patient Population: All age ranges, including NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) experience required
- Procedures Performed:
- Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs) drawing
- Assisting with intubation
- Nebulizer treatments
- Metaneb therapy
- Intermittent Positive Pressure Breathing (IPPB)
- Chest Physiotherapy (CPT)
- Ventilator Experience Preferred: Servo I ventilator
- Additional Equipment Experience Preferred: I-Stat
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in Texas
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NBRC, NRP, PALS
- Experience working with Neonate patients and certified Respiratory Therapy NICU experience
- ICU and Emergency Department (ED) experience
- Ability to draw Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
Dress Code and Appearance Standards
- Scrub Color: Black scrubs (purchase required)
- Nail Policy: Clean and healthy nails; no artificial nails, gel, or similar enhancements
- Hair: Neat and clean; no extreme styles or colors; hair shoulder length or longer must be pulled back in the lab
- Facial Hair: Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be clean and neatly trimmed
- Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; exceptions addressed individually
- Piercings: Only ear piercings allowed; visible piercings such as nose or tongue rings are prohibited
Additional Information
- Floating and attendance policies will follow company-wide standards
- No call requirements; guaranteed 36 hours per week
This position is ideal for experienced RRTs with strong critical care skills, including NICU experience, seeking a travel assignment in a hospital setting with a focus on respiratory therapy.
