Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (Nights)

Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work primarily on Labor & Delivery unit with patient types including high-risk obstetrics, antepartum, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries.
• Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2.
• Unit has 45 beds and 2 operating rooms.
• Manage drips such as magnesium, insulin, and pitocin.
• Approximately 150 deliveries per month at this facility.
• Must float across multiple campuses within the local area.
• Use EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Orientation provided (dates available).
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day).
• Scrubs provided by the hospital.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Experience working with high-risk patients
• Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
• One completed travel nursing assignment
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system
• Certifications required:

  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS
  • NRP
  • AWHONN or I-EFM certification
• Valid driver’s license

Additional Notes

• New graduate or first-time travel nurses are not eligible.
• Employee separation policy restricts certain past employees from working travel assignments in this market.
• Overtime and holiday pay multipliers apply.
• Call back and on-call pay available.
• Billable overtime begins after 40 hours per week.
