Job Opportunity: Pediatric PACU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Position Details

• Specialty: Pediatric Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each

  • Day shift: 06:30 - 17:00
  • Evening shift: 13:00 - 23:30
• Occasional weekends required
• On-call requirement: Approximately 4 hours every 6 weeks; must be able to arrive within 1 hour when called

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
• Minimum 2 years of Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience, including experience within the last year
• Experience working with pediatric patients in a PACU setting
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with IV therapy ("IV Stars"), ventilators, and broader pediatric nursing
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience in academic or varied PACU settings with acutely ill patients
• Additional certifications such as ACLS, NRP, CHEMO (not required but beneficial)

Additional Information

• Candidates must be willing to meet on-call requirements similar to staff nurses
• Modules and training must be completed prior to start, including Epic test-out modules if assigned
• Candidates will undergo a proctored math test onsite; remediation available if needed
• EKG/Dysrhythmia competency exam required for certain critical care areas; remediation process in place if needed
• Background checks and credential verifications are comprehensive and must be current
• Candidates educated outside the U.S. must provide foreign equivalency education evaluation if applicable
• Meal waiver agreement available but not mandatory
• Parking access available via ID badge; public transportation encouraged
