Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech – Surgical Services

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CVOR) with scrub experience for a travel contract position. First-time travelers and local candidates are welcome.

Work Schedule

• 40 hours per week
• Evening shift
• Schedule includes:

  • Two 8-hour shifts
  • Two 12-hour shifts
• Shifts may occur anytime between 6:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. based on staffing needs
• Weekend rotation shared equitably
• Call duties included and distributed equitably

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
• Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients

Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting
• Education accreditation verification required
• Ohio BCI & FBI fingerprinting must be completed using specific codes and within 1 year of start
• Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption requires documentation)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• Fit mask testing required annually for patient-facing roles, including OR techs, starting 7/13/2026
• Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
• Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment required

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leader (charge RN acceptable as second reference)
• Employment application required, including education details for nursing candidates
• Skills checklist required
• Unit-specific competency exams required
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required annually

• Candidates can renew BLS certification onsite if needed
