Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location: Conroe, Texas

Unit Information

• Unit: Emergency Department
• Number of Beds: 30 physical beds, 8 hall beds
• Staff: 77 total
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Equipment Used: Baxter IV pumps, GE Monitors, Ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, Belmont Rapid Infusers, portable EKG machine
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

Skills and Procedures

• Must Have: Compassion, Empathy
• Preferred: TNCC, ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
• Typical Procedures:

  • NIH Stroke Scale assessments
  • IV insertion and blood draws
  • Moderate sedation
  • Administration of TNK (Tenecteplase)
  • Cardiac monitoring

Work Environment and Schedule

• Shifts: Day and Night shifts with detailed staffing patterns
• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend on average
