Description
Respiratory Therapist (Adult or NICU)
Location: Grand Forks, North Dakota
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts
Hours per Week: 36
Job Description
- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic treatment and assist physicians.
- Deliver patient education, family teaching, and support tailored to patient and family needs.
- Identify significant changes in patient condition and take appropriate action, including reporting and documentation.
- Communicate pertinent information to appropriate caregivers.
- Perform pain assessments and take appropriate actions per standard procedures.
- Complete all required documentation, including order entry, verification, EMR, medication charting, patient safety/incident reports, and equipment repair tags.
- Process patient charges and run/verify reports as needed.
- Disassemble, clean, assemble respiratory equipment, and perform preventative maintenance per standard procedures. Tag equipment needing maintenance or repair and notify the appropriate department.
- Transport infants to/from referral health systems as needed.
- Provide high-quality critical care following established patient care guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet department needs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in North Dakota
- Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
- Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
Specialty & Experience
- Specialty: Cardiopulmonary (Respiratory Therapy)
- Accepts candidates with experience in Adult or NICU respiratory therapy.
- Required years of experience: 2 years in specialty.
Additional Information
- Night shift schedule (3 shifts of 12 hours each).
- Prior travel experience is not required.
