Sonographer (Vascular) – Temp Position

Location: Waterloo, Iowa
Shift: Days
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Perform approximately 15 scans per day on general, OB/GYN, and vascular patients.
• Experience with abdomen, small parts, and OB imaging including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimester (non high-risk) for dating, measurements, BPPs, and fetal anatomy scans.
• Perform transabdominal and transvaginal gynecologic imaging.
• Conduct upper and lower venous doppler, lower arterial doppler, ABIs, aorta duplex, carotid arterial doppler, hepatic and renal doppler exams.
• Preferred experience assisting with fine needle aspirations, paracentesis, and thoracentesis procedures.
• Use EPIC electronic medical records system.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Vascular Sonographer, including experience within the last year.
• ARDMS certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system.

Additional Information

• Orientation dates available in early August.
• Contractors are required to work 1-2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed.
• Workweek typically 36-40 hours; overtime applies after 40 hours.
• Call back and on-call opportunities available with additional compensation.

Candidate Profile Requirements

• Resume/work history must clearly document at least 24 months of recent sonography and/or vascular experience.
• Skills checklist specific to sonography/vascular discipline required.
• Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred.

Notes

• First-time travelers are accepted if they have at least 2 years of ultrasound experience.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
