Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D) (Nights)
Location: Dubuque, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Patient Information
- Unit includes Maternity (16 beds), Nursery (12 beds), NICU (4 beds), C-section suite (1 bed), and Overflow rooms
- Patient types: antepartum, mother-baby, newborn, OB/GYN, NICU
- Delivery volume: 50-60 births per month
- Level 2 maternal/neonatal center
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: Labor 1:1, Postpartum 1:2, NICU 2:1
- Medication administration experience required with glucose, magnesium, pitocin, and insulin drips/titrations
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Iowa
- Labor and Delivery experience of at least 2 years, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- STABLE certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Valid driver’s license
- Travel experience within the last 15 months
- Experience with Epic electronic medical record system
Preferred Qualifications
- Nursery and Mother-Baby experience
- NICU experience
- Postpartum experience
- Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred
Additional Requirements & Information
- Prior travel experience within the last 15 months is required
- Newborn Orientation (NBO) is 16 hours
- Holiday work required for 1-2 of the 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
- No local candidates within 90 miles eligible
- Orientation dates available: August 10, 17, and 24
- Employee separation policy restricts certain past employees from working travel contracts in this market
