Description
Registered Nurse (ICU) - Travel Assignment
Location: San Antonio, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (rotating weekends)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Unit and Work Environment
- Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with 14 beds; also includes 20 Med/Surg beds
- Patient Ratios: 1:2 in ICU, 1:5 in Med/Surg
- Staffing: 1 Patient Care Assistant (PCA), 1 Unit Coordinator (UC)
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Floating: Required as needed (all travelers must comply with floating policy)
- Call Requirements: None
- Attendance: Reliable attendance is critical; candidates with attendance issues will not be considered
- Dress Code:
- Navy scrub top and pants; navy or white scrub jacket
- Clean, healthy nails; neat and clean hair with no extreme styles or colors
- Facial hair must be clean and neatly trimmed
- Body art should be covered when possible; visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas (temporary licenses not accepted)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS)
- Skills:
- Experience with vasopressor management
- Meditech experience preferred (not required)
Procedures and Skills
- Critical care procedures performed regularly on the unit
