Description

Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (Outpatient Clinic)

Location

  • Edmonds, Washington

Employment Type

  • Travel/Contract

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Schedule

  • Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts (Tuesday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM)
  • Flexibility to cover Monday if needed
  • No weekend or on-call requirements

Job Overview

  • Position covers a caregiver on leave with no definitive return date
  • Open to local, non-local, and true travel candidates
  • May require floating between like units as needed within skillset

Required Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Labor & Delivery nursing
  • Outpatient clinic experience is required
  • Triage experience is required
  • Experience working with higher patient ratios is ideal
  • First-time travelers accepted

Required Skills

  • Patient assessment including height/weight, vital signs, pain assessment, health history, allergies, pulse oximetry
  • Cardiovascular knowledge, specifically hypertension
  • Women’s health skills including use of Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
  • Medication administration: intradermal, intramuscular, intravenous infusions, subcutaneous
  • Telephone triage experience
  • EPIC charting experience is required

Preferred Skills

  • Strong patient education skills, especially regarding lifestyle and medication adherence
  • Participation in quality improvement initiatives and team collaboration

Required Licenses and Certifications

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington
  • Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
  • Experience with Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience in an outpatient setting
  • Clinic experience
  • Triage experience
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Required Background and Compliance Checks

  • Government-issued photo ID and Social Security Card
  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start; updated monthly
  • Education verification for nursing degree
  • State-specific searches including Washington State Patrol Search within 90 days of start
  • Drug screening (9-panel) within 12 months of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • TDAP within 10 years (declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (annual updates required)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
    • COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
  • Respiratory safety clearance for respirator use (travel only)
  • Fit mask testing (travel only, updated annually)
  • References: Minimum 2 references covering 1 year of employment in comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years of employment

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via assigned LMS platform
  • Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
  • WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation if working with out-of-state compact license in Washington

Notes

  • Temp-to-perm conversion is ideal but not mandatory
  • Locals, local travelers, and true travelers are all eligible
  • No weekend or on-call shifts required
  • Floating may be required within skillset
