Description

Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location: Augusta, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Work Environment

Unit: 5 West, Med-Surg
Number of Beds: 40
Patient Ratio: Approximately 1 nurse to 7 patients
Staffing per Shift: 1 clinical nurse coordinator, 7 nurses, 4 patient care technicians (PCTs), 1 unit coordinator (UC)
Equipment: Standard medical equipment for med-surg units
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling: 36 hours per week with rotating weekends
Floating Policy: Contract staff float first to like units
Dress Code: Royal blue top and bottom uniform required

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Georgia
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
De-escalation skills in a healthcare setting

Skills & Procedures

Med-Surg nursing skills required
Procedures performed on unit include EKGs, glucose monitoring, and venipuncture
No advanced skills required
